CUSTOM ARTWORK


It is our goal that your products be the very best they can be. With great artwork, we are confident you will look forward to handing out your products and see them all around town! We've put together some answers to the most frequently asked questions. WHAT IS THE BEST ART TO USE?
 

Birth Rite™ has many stock designs available for you to choose from. You may also select the phrases you wish to be printed. If you choose to use a custom design, it is best to use artwork that is already separated. Separated means each color of the art is separated from the others. For example: If you have a design using four colors, there should be a separate page for each color. When all the pages are placed on top of one another, they should make the complete design.

It is very likely your graphic arts specialist will already have these types of digital files available. If you don't have separated art, just send us a clean outline of your design and instructions about colors, and we may be able to re-draw the art with the separations. Of course, we will provide you with an estimated cost before proceeding.

Please note there is a maximum of four colors per design including the outline. In additiona, there may be an artwork fee of $20.00 per color. This is a one-time only fee and will not be charged again, unless your custom design changes.


WHAT KIND OF FILE CAN I SEND YOU?
 

To get the BEST results, send us a .pdf or .eps digital (vector) file. Please do not send a .jpg or .bmp as these types of files distort terribly and will not reproduce well in our printing process.

 

CAN WE SCAN OUR ARTWORK AND SAVE AS A PDF?
 

Usually, this type of an image does not work. The reason is that even though it is "saved" as a .pdf, it is still an scan and works just like a .jpg causing the artwork to distort terribly when it has been re-sized to fit the print area of the product.

 

ARE THE DESIGNS AVAILABLE IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH?
 

Of course! We just ask that you provide us with the translations and we'll make sure you get a proof so that you can double check it.

 

CAN YOU USE OUR BUSINESS CARD OR LETTERHEAD FOR THE LOGO?
 

Business cards or letterhead can rarely be used for your logo. However, we may be able to re-draw the logo for printing.

A better option would be to check with the company that handles your printing, as they may already have a digital version of your logo, which can be emailed to us.

 

CAN LINE ART BE USED?
 

Yes! Line art is the best possible way to reproduce your image in our screen printing process.

 

WHAT IS LINE ART?
 

Line art is very similar to Clip Art. Our screen printing process requires a separate screen for each color selected for your desing. Line art makes it very easy to line up each of the colors for the finished design.

 

CAN A PHOTOGRAPH BE USED?
 

Sorry, photographs cannot be used in our printing process.

 

HOW DO WE GET OUR ARTWORK TO YOU?
 

The two ways to get artwork to us is:

1. By E-mail. Send your file to art@powind.com

2. By mail. Make sure your artwork is printed on clean WHITE letter size paper with black (without gray tones) ink. Mail it in a flat envelope (not folded) and inserted into a file folder for protection. Do not fold, staple or paperclip, as these actions leave imprints on the artwork and will show on the finished design when it is scanned.

 

WILL I GET TO SEE A PROOF?
  Absolutely! We can send you a proof either by email or fax for your approval. We will only start the production process once your approval has been received.
